My 2021 Advocacy Plan

I’m buying back in and going to push my chips to the middle of the table for my advocacy in 2021. I’M ALL IN.

Sadly, over the past year or so, I haven’t been able to devote as much time as I’d want to my advocacy. There were times that I managed to get in short bursts, but nothing planned out like I wanted to do or normally would do. This coming year I’m going to make sure that changes.

So, what’s ahead for me this coming year with my advocacy at The Spoonie Ironman? Well I’m hoping to put this out there in the universe this way I hold myself more accountable. I’ve always been good at doing that when I post about stuff, a good example was my IRONMAN training. I’m excited to share below what some of my 2021 advocacy goals are.


Spoonie Ironman YouTube

I while back I started The Spoonie Ironman YouTube page, but I didn’t have the time to organize it the way I wanted and put in the amount of time it would take to truly start making videos. With the a new chapter of my life starting as a dad, that’s right I’m going to be a father, I thought this would be a great time to document my journey. I even bought some new equipment and a computer to motivate me to get this off the ground.

Sunday Spoonie Strolls

I’ve been toying with the idea of putting together a series of videos to openly discuss some of the natural thoughts those living with a chronic illness have. This is going to cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from mental health, the challenges we face, tips for living with a chronic illness, and more. These will probably be posted to YouTube but will be on Instagram primarily. Follow me on Instagram at @SpoonieIronman to connect more.

Spoonie Products

Over the years I’ve found a wide variety of products that I use on a daily, weekly, or fairly regular basis that I truly believe can help others with a chronic illness. These posts WILL NOT BE SPONSORED, and I’ll share my real-life experiences on how they’ve helped me. Some of these help with inflammation, digestion, immune system, exercise, and more. My thought is, if they’ve helped me, they can probably help others with a chronic illness as well.


I have some more ideas that I will be working on but those are the big ones that I wanted to share. I’m also hoping to collaborate more with my fellow ostomate and badass mindset coach Susan Doran on some projects we’ve discussed, have some appearances on podcasts which I’m excited for, and if things get back to normal maybe some speaking events again too.

So there it is, my 2021 advocacy plan. Now it’s time to hold myself accountable and get to work.
